Detroit iPhone adventure begins tomorrow

200 iPhones, 10 Detroit-area AT&T stores and 2 days.

That’s how small my chances are of an iPhone purchase this weekend. Considering people have been camped out for days in front of some of AT&T’s retail stores, I’m not optimistic my partner Danielle and I will be able to buy one of the much-ballyhooed devices when we visit the Detroit area for the Canada Day long weekend (how patriotic eh?).

Oh ya, AT&T commenced sales of the iPhone three-and-a-half hours ago (it’s now 9:30PM EST). We’re going to try to land one nonetheless - anyone have a U.S. address and/or I.D. can use on the off chance I happen to get my hands on a device?

Needless to say, we’re more likely to catch a foul ball at Comerica Park when the Tigers play the Minnesota Twins at 4PM.
